Revelation 21:3-5 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
We live in a day that is darker to the natural circumstance, but God is setting us up for a NEW FRESH OUTPOURING!
Many will try to Hallmark Revivals of old and what gave birth to their own denominations, but the fact is...GOD MAKES ALL THINGS NEW!
The problem today is that many will anticipate a new move of God to be like a move that was once familiar. Many churches were indeed born out of past revivals, but the problem is that for many, they encamped themselves around a past move, rather than preparing their spirit in continual prayer and daily searching out God's present rhema word. Thus we can easily find ourselves as Mary, Martha and Joanna going to the tomb of what kept a body that was ONCE alive and now going to anoint a dead body.
WHY SEEK THE LIVING AMONG THE DEAD? Luke 24:5.
A question asked by the angels to those three women, is still the question God asks many who have ears to hear what the spirit is saying today!
Many church folk claim to be hosting "special revival" meetings, but unless there is non stop prayer and repentance born out of conviction to what The Holy Spirit is doing, then those folk are NOT having a "revival" service, but merely another gathering rehearsing the days of old.
I have been part of services where we tried to "do church" and dance and move to the old familiar tunes and in old familiar ways, but at the end of the day realizing that God was not in it. Sort of like the days of Samson, where he knew how to operate under the anointing of the Holy Spirit in might and strength, but the problem was that he got a little too comfortable and laid his head down on the wrong lap which after a not so special hair cut, he was bound up and tried to shake himself in that old familiar way, not realizing that GOD departed from him AND HE KNEW IT NOT!!!(Judges 16:20)
There are some boasting in their doctrinal denominational circles. Only willing to be with people who are like minded and rehearse the old glory days. They sing "give me that old time religion" meanwhile their denominational radio never tuned into a new song that cries out for a NEW FRESH OUTPOURING!
It is not about being charismatic, Pentecostal, Church of Christ, Baptist, etc... it is about being a vessel yielding to the present move of the Holy Spirit! The Holy Spirit never stopped moving across the waters since in the beginning! The sad thing is that one does not have to walk backwards to backslide from the onward move of God's agenda in the earth through His Church! All you have to do is stand still and stop in your hunger for more of Him, thinking you know all there is to God, meanwhile it is not the Bible that get's outdate, but rather your understanding of His present word! Don't allow your understanding of what you think you know about God, fill your spiritual appetite unto satisfaction! Don't let your hunger die! Definitely eat and see that the Lord is good, but be sure to ALWAYS leave room in your heart for more!
I have heard the stories of the good ole glory days and they excite me because they prepare my heart to see what new thing God will do! Not one wave in the ocean is ever repeated! It comes and goes, making way for the present current to prepare the next wave to come!
Oh Lord bring on the new waves of your glory to the shores of this nation! Better yet, to the shores of those who must be refreshed in the waters of life, along with those who anticipate gladly the reviving, invigorating and refreshing visitation of Your Holy Presence!
