It is my humble opinion that far too often the way of consumerism has diluted one's approach to the gift of the prophetic in the Church and viered many away from understanding the true nature, process, and purpose of what scripture entails of the prophetic today. Unfortunately due to the abuses of this gift, some falsely believe that the prophetic is not for today, which in turn causes such to be out of touch with discerning, expecting, and discovering God's present hand in and through their lives for the furtherance of His Kingdom. This produces an approach to any endeavor for God as being vague and not purposeful for what He specifically has in mind in our present day and hour.
When a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the thing follow not, nor come to
pass, that is the thing which the Lord had not spoken, but the prophet had spokenit
presumptuously: Thou shalt not be afraid of him. Deuteronomy 18:22
Often prophetic words are actually revealing God’s desired intentions. To see
these words come to pass, faith and obedience on the part of the individual or congregation to which the word is being spoken is necessary. Just as they would be for any promise given to us by God.
We must never forget the ‘Life Process’ that takes place between the PROMISE and its
eventual FULFILLMENT. It is during this period of time when God is working very intently on
shaping the vessel for His plan and orchestrating circumstances for His purposes.
PROPHETIC PROMISE (+) LIFE PROCESS (=) FULFILLMENT
Now as one could wait for the fulfillment, you must understand it is the process that gives birth to testimonies (plural) unto the full crop of fulfillment! If one is to stop engaging God in life and encamp themselves around a prophetic word, they miss out on living for Him...only becoming a spectator and not a participator in His Kingdom purposes. To BE STILL and know He is God is to follow the cloud by day and fire by night. To rest when He gives His beloved rest and to follow as He goes.
Like a gravestone, the essence and story of one's life are not found at one's birth and death date, but the dash in between. So it is for every born-again believer who engages in their journey with Jesus, learning to hear and receive Him at His Word! Both Scripture and Prophesy bear witness to scripture.
So as you trust God and even dare War with the Prohersies given, make sure you engage in Life's process, allowing the Word and His Spirit to shape you unto the fulfillment of His promises. Because at the end of the day, it's not just about The Lord making a way where there seems to be none, but rather Him making the Vessel as He sees fit and no other way.
Don't risk an entire lifetime out of touch of presently hearing His voice and receiving the gifts He has given His church still today to hear, discern, and guide unto being conformed in the perfect man Jesus Christ and the fulfillment of His Kingdom come!
